Blog Chat: Tony Baker Photography

I’m so excited to jumpstart the Blog Chat Series!

When I originally thought of Blog Chats, I knew instantly that Tony Baker of Tony Baker Photography was going to be the first person I introduced you to. You know those people that you meet in life and are just like Yep, we are gonna be friends? Well, that was me when I met Tony at one of the weddings I was coordinating.

It is so important in the wedding industry (and life) to have a solid group of people who support you and cheer you on and Tony is one of those people for me in the wedding industry. I just hope that I return all the positive vibes.

So, without further ado, I’m so excited to introduce you to Tony Baker, Owner of Tony Baker Photography.

Tony Baker Photography HeadshotWhat are some of your favorite things?

I love to play golf and watch documentaries. I know, two really boring things, but don’t judge too harshly. I like that one teaches me about myself and the other gives me a wider general knowledge of things.

If you could be any SuperHero which one would you be and why?

Probably Batman for the simple reason he has all the cool gadgets. I really like gadgets and gizmos.

Do you have any pets?

No pets, but I had a Basset Hound named Digger. He was like my best friend and once he past I just couldn’t make myself get another pet. I know, I’m a big wimp.

Side Note: I have to disagree with you, Tony. You’re not a wimp and I think it’s sweet that you know that no pet could ever come close to Digger.

If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Doughnuts! Just a plain glazed doughnut – nothing fancy. Sweets are definitely my weakness!

What motivates you or inspires you when you’re having a bad day?

Just to stop and take a moment to look at what I have. Family, friends, a roof over my head, etc. It reminds me that I’m truly lucky and makes me grateful for what I have.

What is one your favorite wedding moments to capture?

I always enjoy capturing The First Look. It never gets old watching the bride and groom see each other for the first time. To be able to witness and photograph that special moment is always super special.

What was your first camera that you owned?

My first camera was a Minolta SRT 200 film camera. It was a Christmas gift from my parents when I was in Junior High. I really wish I still had that camera.

Where is one of your favorite places to shoot?

It is so hard to pick one place because I really like all of the abandon industrial areas. However, if I had to choose it would be Chicago. I love the architecture, the subway, and all the lights at night.

Do you have a memorable wedding moment?

Once I had a couple tell me that I couldn’t leave until I had my picture taken with them. It was a great feeling knowing they wanted an image made with me on their big day!

What advice do you want to pass along to brides and grooms?

Don’t get too hung up on traditions if that’s not your thing. Don’t be afraid to make your wedding day about what you want and have it reflect your personality.

What is unique about your photography business or the way that you shoot?

Customer service is such a big part of my business. As a photographer, I’m an artist that brings my touch to your wedding photography to deliver a final product that you are happy with. I understand the importance of being asked to capture your special moments and I take that very seriously.

How can couples contact you to learn more about photography services?

Please feel free to call me or email me. I love hearing my couples love story and I’d love to hear yours.
